Welcome to Holy Communion Lutheran Church

1525 Clarks Creek Road, Banner Elk, North Carolina

(Between the communities of Foscoe and Valle Crucis)

A Congregation in the ELCA and of LutheranCORE

You and your family are invited to come and be a part of our church family in worship, Christian education, fellowship, and service to God’s kingdom. At Holy Communion we want to offer a church family in which you will feel a great sense of belonging as we all strive to become the people God wants us to be. We are an old congregation, dating to the 1700s. The current sanctuary building was constructed by parishioners and completed in 1939 from native stone and hand-made accoutrements.

We are blessed with a worship-centric sanctuary with offices, classrooms, and a large fellowship building, the Morgan Center. Sunday worship is liturgical and traditional, blending the Lutheran Book of Worship liturgy with other orthodox worship expressions. The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays as well as commemorations and festivals.

The testimony of our faith is found in the Word of God, expressed and interpreted through the three historic creeds of the Church and the unaltered Lutheran Confessions. You are cordially invited to worship with us.
